flinder’s got talent – and wants more of it
It’s no secret that finding good people – and keeping them – can be a major barrier to growth.
That’s why flinder is taking pre-emptive action. Already the business has seen over 50% growth in revenue over the past 12 months.
Now it’s recruited Colin Yoshioka-Smith Assoc CIPD, MIRP, AET as Head of People and Talent and expert in all things HR.
Fuelling talent growth
And no surprises, talent acquisition and training and development are top of his hit list. Colin has spent his professional life working across people-related disciplines for companies across the spectrum from large corporates to start-ups.
“I love to see the cycle of support by recruiting, developing, mentoring, and progressing people, says Colin. ‘As an expat living in a dual-cultural household, I’m a lover of cultural diversity, internationalism, and inclusion. Outside of work, I’m a busy dad of 2 boys (being shouted at in two languages!). What spare time I have (in short supply!) I spend playing the drums, eating Japanese food, and walking our puppy Pomeranian.
flinder CEO, Alastair Barlow, says:
‘We’re excited that Colin has chosen to join flinder. While it's relatively unprecedented in our sector for a business our size to bring this role in-house, we’ve witnessed the growth of many promising firms strangled by a lack of talent and capacity. This investment firmly signals our commitment to growth, hiring more great talent, and our vision to be pioneers of smart finance functions and continue to move the accounting industry forward.”
Meet Colin.
