I was working with the tax advisor who worked with flinder, and they recommended me to flinder and it turned out to be a good fit. I'm not originally from the UK, however, I've worked in accountancy and have a degree in accountancy. It's been a bit of challenge starting over in the UK but it's worked well here at flinder.
I really like the flexibility within the business. When I started in 2020, we were working remotely initially but now we are hybrid and I've found the opportunity to concentrate and focus has offered more productivity. Without the commute every day, I feel I can be more productive.
For me, the hybrid format allows me the ability to balance study, work and family time so it's been great.
We've established good work flows in our team, which I think is essential, to be sure about delivering the best to our clients.
The flinder culture is very transparent, very open. The socials are great, I've been to most of them. It gives you the opportunity to get to know the team better and hear about their passions outside of work. It's a great chance to connect and flinder creates those opportunities and encourages everyone to get together. I think it establishes better relationships among the team.
I really look up to Luke, our COO, he is the dream leader.
Luke takes the time to explain and help understand and embed the knowledge within you - he really spends the time with you to help you absorb the learning and understanding. He's so quick to reply and support with our client work and it's part of the company approach as a whole. I appreciate his style of working, it's inspirational.
