Amelia Bewsher
Ops Lead, Office Manager & PA to Founders
I started with flinder two weeks before the annual ski trip, so I was a little thrown in at the deep end which I loved. It was a challenge to get all the final bits organised but the trip was a huge success and everyone had stacks of fun. It was an amazing experience and allowed me get to know the team on a deeper, more personal level very quickly which was really valuable. So, it was a great first couple of weeks for me at flinder!
In my role, I'm in a unique position in that I work across so many functions of the business and work so closely with the two founders. That's the aspect of my role that I love as it's so varied. As well as my PA responsibilities, I work with operations, finance, events and office management and get exposure to many different areas of the business. It's helped me grow. Organising large projects and events, like the ski trips, is an opportunity that I wouldn't have had in previous roles.
I find my role both challenging and very rewarding. The standard at flinder is high and I love that. That's what I want from my role.
I'm very close to both of the founders and we work well together which makes me feel quite privileged. The culture comes from the top down here at flinder and I hope that I feed that back to the team. We work hard but play hard as well.
I'm also on the social committee too, which again is great opportunity to engage with everyone and it's another element to my role that I find enriching.
We have held some amazing events over the last year including TopGolf, a boat party, plenty of pub visits and we'll be hitting FairGame in Canary Wharf for our next social in May.
Both the founders are very inspiring and so is their vision. They both bring different things to flinder that make it such a great place to work. I often wear a lot of hats and building trust with the founders to deliver has been a great experience. I feel very lucky.
